Notes: Christie’s writes in their lot notes: Tête cubiste quite clearly embodies the dynamism and aims of the Cubist movement. Like Gris, Metzinger succeeds in this work in avoiding the complexity of some of his Cubist colleagues, through his clear vision and employing a colorful palette, thus rendering the work dynamic yet the subject still recognizable.
