Notes: Formerly thought to have been created around 1915, this work has little in common with the wartime works of Metzinger. Rather, the composition and treatment of subject matter, the limited use of color, the multiple-perspective, are all consistent with the post-1909 through early-1911 works by the artist. Note too, a golden section triangle is sketched in graphite on the verso of this work on paper.
