Notes: Maxime Girieud was a classical Latin and Greek literature professor. He was likely introduced to Metzinger through the intermediary of the artist Pierre Girieud, the brother of Maxime. Metzinger exhibited with Pierre Girieud at Galerie Berthe Weill in Paris the same year, 1905.
