Notes: Bozena Nikiel dated this work circa 1933. This may very well be the case. However,  the painting has been classified here as circa 1942 pending further scrutiny. Its very close association with Metzinger’s c. 1942 Le thé sur la terrasse (AM-42-007), and Conversation dans un jardin (AM-43-001) of 1943, gives credence to the probability that the three works were painted within the same timeframe.
