Littérature: Francia művészek kiállítása Fränkelnél, Fränkel Szalon, Budapest, 1935, catalogue no. 34, titled Félakt, reproduced.
Notes: X-ray analysis revealed this painting was executed on top of another painting representing a nude woman.
Several auction catalogues note the date of circa 1925 for this work. However, 1934 is more realistic considering the model (probably his wife Suzanne) and stylistic considerations.
The reproduction of this painting in the 1935 Fränkel Szalon exhibition catalogue, discovered by art historian Gergely Barki, lends credence to the 1934 date for this painting.
