Notes: Christie’s, in their 14 September 2005 sale catalogue, states the work was exhibited at the Jean Metzinger in Retrospect 1985-86 exhibitions. This was not the case. However, it was reproduced in the catalogue.
This is a common mistake. It should be known that only those works in the catalogue with titles in bold type were exhibited. All of the others were simply reproduced in the catalogue, and so should be catalogued under Literature, not Exhibitions.
